Happy Spring!

Happy Spring!

The snow has melted, winter's gone.

Zoe noticed that, here in SoCal, our weather went
from 76 and sunny to 78 and sunny so she put on a hat.

She is now ticklish and Mommy and Daddy won't let her forget it.

We love to hear her laughter

She's been trying out different hair styles.
She called this one "Ace Ventura."

Some of our neighborhood friends also noticed it's spring.

Here, Mommy points out a few ducks to Zoe.

We love our neighborhood.

Check out Casanova peeking out over his wall.

Seeing so many horses, Zoe wanted to come home and go for a ride.

She's gotten really big -- soon she'll be riding horses for real!

Hard to see in this pic, but her whole body fit in the center circle 5 months ago.
Now she's almost too big to fit in the swing at all!

She now loves to help Daddy water the plants.

Sometimes we test how big she's getting by dressing her in different sized clothing.
These PJ's are 6 - 12 months!

Of course, sometimes Mommy just dresses her up because it's a holiday.
Happy St. Patrick's Day, everyone!

Lori sent me this pic with the subject, "Nursing is always an adventure."

I'm guessing those aren't Lori's hands or feet...

That's it for this week...

....where are you going?  Come back!

7 Months!

Zoe is 7 months old!

It's safe to say she's perfected the smile.

For those of you who don't get to visit regularly, you're missing a lot of silliness.

Zoe is quite playful and talkative.

She's great with her hands and, when on her stomach, can even scootch backwards...a little.

Baby proofers come next week.

The best part of my week day is coming home to this:

Zoe and Mommy at the top of the stairs with big smiles.

Zoe knows how to give hugs now and Lori and I ask for them about a thousand times a day.

Unfortunately, Zoe is still working on her kisses.

She's eating like a champ.
Here she is eating bananas and apples (mixed with a little cereal) and doing her Dracula impression.

She loves eating real food twice a day.
But you better not keep her waiting...

Daddy, less camera, more Banana.

Fine.  Want to take my picture...?

...I'll feed myself.

Lori and Zoe still go on walks every day.
They love to see horses and puppies...

But sometimes it gets a bit overwhelming and we need a nap.

Fell asleep with Mommy's hat string in her mouth.  For 45 minutes.

And today Zoe wanted to do her Hunter S. Thompson impression
so we went for a walk in the stroller.

At night we take baths.

Zoe thinks her rubber ducky is the one.  He makes bathtime lots of...money fun.

Zoe keeps growing, too.

On the left is Zoe's foot at 7 weeks (stopping at the 2nd knuckle of Lori's pinky finger) and on the right at 7 months (now slightly out of focus).  We hope Zoe will gain focus as she gets older.

Zoe also loves to laugh.
You can hear it here!

We will leave you this week with some 7-month out-takes.

See you next week!

March!

Happy March, everyone!

Zoe and her pink bug say hello!

We've been having some fun at the Bernat household.

Zoe now officially has more hair than Daddy.  As it should be.

...but not more than Mommy.

Zoe has perfected her smile (especially when she sees Mommy)

...and has gotten so active we have to belt her into everything.

If we don't belt her in, she starts breakdancing.

The break-away pants were necessary.

...or rolling around...

Zoe also loves talking with Grandma and Grandpa on the phone.
"You're coming out again in August?!  YES!"

Zoe has quickly taken to eating food and drinking water.
She can even do it by herself (kinda)!

She still chews water...which is good, actually.  Better safe than sorry.

Zoe wanted to show Mommy that she can do it on her own.
Three fingers up.  Extra dainty.

...which lead to this.

Have you heard of the Dread Pirate Banana Beard?

Zoe looks forward to her walks every day.
She's been exploring all the beautiful flowers and foliage in our neighborhood.

...and she looks super cute doing it.

You look mahhhhvalous

She also knows the sound of horse hooves and turns to watch horses as they go by.
She likes the little ones...

...and loves the big ones.

And at night she loves to tell me all about her day.

And sometimes take selfies.

But all too soon it's time for bed.

Shhh....see you next week.
