Happy 11 Months!

Zoe turned 11 months old!

We decided to take the 11 month picture with Zoe in her
natural habitat: surrounded by books.

Zoe loves to read all day long and has even memorized what's in her books.

She made a low, growling noise (her "Lion" noise) and crawled over to
a bookcase, grabbed the book with the lion picture inside and flipped to the page.

She pointed at the lion, and gave me a happy grin and another fierce roar.

Tired of the normal selection, Zoe is reaching ever-higher in her quest for a good read

She's now standing all the time.

Here she is playing with her puppy dog.

...and exploring the pantry.

Zoe still loves going for her walk.

Mommy found this lizard buddy enjoying some sunshine on our wall.

Zoe still loves to stop at this Lantana bush to smell the flowers.

And she's now good friends with this (previously) wild mustang.
See the tattoo near her mane?

Look at Zoe's smile!

Mommy showed Zoe how to pet the horse.

And then it was Zoe's turn!

When we got home, Zoe was reminded of her fun day
by looking at the horses on her pajama pants!

...and speaking of horsing around...

Zoe and Daddy love goofing off together.

Here is a selfie Zoe took.

...and here's another.

Zoe loves sharing so much she painted Daddy's face with her dinner!

Zoe is an ARTIST!

Here she is painting her toes.

All that painting makes a girl tired.

Zoe grabbed Mommy's water bottle for a some refreshing "wa-wa-wa-wa."
(Zoe's started asking for it by that name which is very exciting)

Zoe gave Mommy the nicest kisses to say thank you.

Then it was back to playing around with Daddy.

I'm holding both her arms so my glasses stay on my face.

Because the minute she gets a chance to steal them...

Off they come.

Zoe has been practicing her smile.

And there's so much to smile about!

Even Mommy loves to smile (but we already knew that!)

And then it's time for HUGS!

Zoe's newest trick is climbing the stairs.

Mommy is always right behind as a spotter...

But Zoe's quite proficient at it.

Here's a video of her reaching the top floor!

Zoe was excited to celebrate her 11 months.

Okay, Zoe -- smile for Daddy.

Yeah, good -- but show me the sticker.  Show me...

How's my hair?  (she knows that word, too)
Your hair is cute, just show me the...

Now you're just being silly.

Correction:  NOW you're being silly.

I'll end this week's post with my favorite picture.

Mommy snapped this one of Zoe snuggling with our favorite
stuffed friends from so long ago...

Have a beautiful week.

Zoe can STAND UP!

We're going to start this week off with a little video.

Zoe and I were goofing around one morning and it took a second
for me to realize that she had taught herself a new trick...

SHE CAN STAND UP!

Like...not holding onto anything.

Like this:

This was the first time Mommy saw her stand up!

And now she does it all the time!

Look, Ma!  No hands!

Why do you keep taking my picture?  I'm just standing around...

Of course all that standing takes it's toll.

She's just playing possum.  She never ACTUALLY naps.

Zoe was so excited with her new trick she wanted to tell everyone about it.

Here we are chatting with Grandma and Grandpa.

Hi, Grandma and Grandpa!!!

Then we had some other friends over, including Harley, Wyatt, and Delilah.

Zoe did great!  She loved hanging out with the big kids.

Oh, and then Michelle and Buddha came over, too!

For scale, that rug is six feet long.

For Father's Day, Zoe took us to Malibu!

It was her first time putting her toes in the sand.

Zoe wasn't sure about all the new sensations at first...

But Mommy brought her down to the water...

And pretty soon Zoe realized Malibu is a pretty fun place!

Squishy smile for Mama.

Zoe took this selfie.

Then Daddy and Zoe went down to the water.

The beach cleared out as the sun started to set.

That's when the lighting is the best.

My two ladies.

That's it -- time to go home!

Someday when Zoe is inducted into the Rock 'N Roll Hall Of Fame
for her drumming I'll send them this pic.

Buh-dum...crash!

This week, Grammie and Grandad sent Zoe a package...

It tastes like...turtle?

The last big development is that Zoe has taught herself how to climb the stairs.

Lori said she climes all the way to the top floor three times a day!

We like her so active because it helps her sleep.
Then she wakes up happy!

She really loves books!
Lori caught her reading in her Exersauser.

Ahhh!  You caught me!

I'll leave you this week with a lovely portrait of our little angel.

Have a great rest of your week!
