January to April 2017 (AKA: THE PIGTAIL ERA)

Hear ye, hear ye --

from this point forward, let the beginning of 2017
forever be known as THE PIGTAIL ERA!

Zoe wanted a hairstyle that matched her whimsical personality,
and we landed on Pigtails.

Here was our first attempt:

Obviously she loved them straight away.

She kept running to the mirror and seeing how they looked.

Everyone else loves them, too!

Everywhere she goes, people stop and say,
"Oh!  I love those pigtails!"

With her newfound confidence, Zoe let us know thatshe was ready for a big girl bed.

So she got one!

She had slept in a big girl bed in the hotel while we were on vacation
and felt she was ready to ditch the crib.

Then, in February...

GRANDMA AND GRANDPA CAME TO VISIT!!!

We had so much fun together.

Zoe and Grandpa even had a jumping competition!

Look closely -- they're both off the ground.

We all went to see the space shuttle but Zoe's favorite part
was swinging with Grandma and Grandpa.

SWING!

Zoe also showed Grandpa all the instruments she's learned to play.

Kazoo

Harmonica

Xylophone

Okay, now she's just showing off.

That night at dinner, Zoe grabbed some of Dada's clam and
mussel shells and used them like castanets.

Marcia even came by to visit!

And Grandma got to show Zoe how to be a little tea pot.

After Grandma and Grandpa went back to the wilds of Vermont
Zoe got to visit Descanso Gardens AT NIGHT to see a very
special light exhibit!

We love going to Descanso so much.

We went back in the daylight to see the Cherry Blossoms:

You may notice Zoe is wearing a hood.

This winter has been a bit wetter than normal.

Zoe's become an expert with the umbrella.

This year has also been chalk-full of fun meet and greets!

First, Zoe got to meet Daniel Tiger.

...and Princess Belle...
(we go to the same library)

...and Twinkle Time....

She's also had so much fun hanging out with her friends
like Rhys...

...and Evie...

...and this Jaguar who totally wants to eat her head...

Zoe and Daddy have made lots of wonderful memories together, too.

We love going to the "hill park" behind our house
so Zoe can run up and down the hills.

To the zoo...

And every night we take a bath!

Zoe even let me help her learn to ride her first bike!

Okay, Zoe and Rhys say, "GET BACK TO WORK!"
